Samsung, the current market leader in connected TV products says that it is not concerned about the rumours regarding the entry of Apple into the connected TV market.

Samsung confirms advanced talks over Google TV →
Google TV seems to be having a Lazarus moment. Its poor uptake since launch and the abandonment of the platform by key partner Logitech left the android-based television platform looking as though it was at death’s door. But now, only a few days after it is rumoured that LG will launch TVs based on Google TV at CES, it looks as though Samsung will be doing the same thing.
These are big name brands, and of course they already work with Google on Android for their smart-phones so perhaps this is not that surprising.
I don’t think there is room for too many Connected TV platforms in the marketplace and Google may be in a position to bring rival brands together with a single platform as they have done with Android
